Dr. Muneeb Ali is the co-founder of Blockstack, a full-stack decentralized computing platform. He serves as the CEO of Blockstack PBC, a Public Benefit Corp that is developing the core protocols for Blockstack. Blockstack PBC is backed by more than $50 million in investment from investors including Union Square Ventures, Y Combinator, Lux Capital, and Naval Ravikant. Blockstack was recently featured in the CNBC’s list of 100 promising startups to watch.
Muneeb received his PhD and Masters in Computer Science from Princeton University, both specializing in distributed systems. His PhD thesis was nominated for the ACM SIGCOMM dissertation award by Princeton University. At Princeton, he worked in the Systems & Networks group and at PlanetLab–world’s first cloud computing testbed. Muneeb gives guest lectures on cloud computing at Princeton University and his research publications have over 1,200 citations.
